But again, when Baba died it was a bigger deal, there was more national mourning, there was more public celebrations etc than when Inoki died... and it's not because Baba was the bigger star, it's simply because Baba died while most of his contemporaries were still alive. Inoki outlived most of them, so there are less people around to whom Inoki is the godlike figure he was for those who have already passed on.
but again, using recent polls is just as dishonest and doesn't show how popular Baba was. If you look at polls back from around 2000 and the time of Baba's death, he was much more popular (because, again, most of his contemporaries were still kickin')
