Why would people boo him, though? Maybe if this were Pre-AEW WWE, but the majority of those kinds of fans have moved on to AEW and are not nearly invested enough in WWE to go buy Royal Rumble tickets.

Cody played a huge role in AEW and a big one in WWE and was clearly being set up for bigger things before the injury. Sami hasn't done anything like that yet and putting it all on him now at Mania season is too big of a risk. Let the next few months be his big break out before they actually go in with him.
