>>8752556It would be so fucking shitty if this happens. Cody isn't a story of just a few months that will be forgotten when Bork comes back to squash Sami in 10 seconds. Cody has been working for this since he left WWE 7 years ago. Even if we don't take into account how he almost single handedly created an alternative to WWE, the sole fact he wrestled with a torn pec and still managed to have a five star classic should be enough to give him his big moment, instead of just giving it to the flavor of the month.
Because that's what Sami is, a flavor of the month. Even he admitted it himself in that interview. By SummerSlam, no one will care about his reign anymore and nothing would have been accomplished outside of a dumb fan reaction moment, ironically, one of the things why we all hate AEW for.
