Sami is the kid who used to be bully who joins the gang to stop being bullied. At first he just wants the power trip and be around people who would normally beat him up. Then he starts hanging with them and doing dirt to earn their protection. Then he starts doing more dirt because now he is the bully. He's at the end of the cycle where you turn around and realize you're doing the shit you didn't like and its getting out of control.

He did it because the last time he didn't obey, Roman beat the fuck out of him and into submission. When against all odds, despite the consequences, Sami stood up to Roman, he saw that something that he lost in him. That's why after all this time of Sami not giving up on him he couldn't hold it in and left.
