Cody's MUH DADDEH already got stale before his injury, imagine him cutting the same shit for 8+ months
Sami was only catapulted by being in the Bloodline, without them he's just a job guy and a pity champion like Bryan, Big E, Kofi; to make matters worse he's locked in with another soulless KO feud
Without the Bloodline the Usos and Solo are just jokes and there's no more weekly Paul Heyman on TV
WWE ratings are going to nosedive hard

Part of my problem with Cody being a champ so soon is that it feels like you should milk out more of his chase, with how that's the defining characteristic right now.

Look, I get what you're saying, but the formula is not necessarily that simple. It's entirely possible that this iron is so hot that it's worth striking and getting major benefits from for a bit, AND it makes the champion that come after draw more as a result as well.

hold a tournament on raw for someone to face Roman 1 on 1 at Elimination Chamber for the WWE championship (not universal), the last 2 people in the tournament pin each other at the same time to make it a triple threat at EC, at EC the heel pins the face to win the championship for Cody to face at wrestlemania (probably Seth), Sami wins EC to face Roman at WM, Roman heads into WM never being pinned, Cody and Sami win the championships at WM.

The iron isn’t that hot though at least long term. I don’t buy that anyone pays to go see Sami specifically but they still love him. I think Cody would’ve gotten a comparable pop had they not announced his return. My point is backed by the fact that Cody sold out all his merch online and in the arena. I agree that the Cody story feels a bit rushed but they have 3 months and right now it’s not like his numbers have dropped so they’re still going with the plan.

Honestly, I think WWE realizes that the Cody story still needs more of a chase before the big moment happens. But I don't think that means they're gonna give Sami the title. It just means they're gonna go for the safer plan of having Reigns retain both at EC and WM.

I wouldn’t put it past wwe to just go with it since they care more about moments anyways and it’ll sell future documentaries. Also I thought Roman is taking a break from wrestling after this. They really dropped the ball by not having Cody do more vignettes and incorporate him on the show outside of the ring while he was injured. They could have easily had the bloodline bully him in some segments like they’ve been doing to Kevin and then had him announce he’s recovered and win the rumble
