Is he really that bad in the ring? I saw someone call him a shitty AJPW cosplayer.
I don't watch AEW so all I've seen from him is a promo or two I really liked and that one picture you all spammed when he was bloody and carrying the gas can

He's way too unathletic and gasses too easily. His best matches are the ones where he's just brawling the whole time. When he tries doing anything even slightly more complex than that (Which he does too often), it's cringe.
As far as walking the King's Road goes, he's laughable. Even Ishii completely mogs him, let alone the legends he looks up to in their prime.

He's amazing at selling, one of the last guys to really get it. There was CZW match back in the day where he legit broke his leg, and his reaction to that is same to how he sells in matches now. It's a sight to behold.
But... He's either too beat up or out of shape to do some of the more convoluted spots AEW fans expect.
He really should adopt a street fighter style, like a thug not like the videogame. It would suite his abilities better and would appeal to normies more than "he really likes this wrestling most of you haven't seen from 30 years ago". I love 90s all Japan an early NOAH, but I don't need to see people imitate it.
