I actually switched back to WCW Nitro during that era. I didn't know anything about the inner workings of wrestling, but I just knew the show got way more entertaining than Raw for some reason.

What it comes down to is that he was the only guy besides McMahon who had the BALLS to try something different. And in fact, showing off his balls in that meeting where he spoke out of line about how shit the product was at the time was probably what convinced McMahon to give him the writer spot. Everyone else were kissasses or traditionalists. Russo was willing to take risks.

2000 WWF was so overrated besides shit like Angle. You could really smell HHH's reign of terror beginning and the anticlimatic moments really started adding up.
I watched some episodes from around april 2000 a few years back of both nitro and raw and honestly the Nitro was more enjoyable. Raw had a bigger feel cause it was more popular at the time but so many shitty things like when Jericho beat HHH on raw then later had to job the belt back without it being recognized.
New Blood and David Arquette wasnt so bad compared to Mcmahons and HHH being shoved down your throat especially since in retrospect it was a such a signal of things to come.
