Surprised they havent done something like this to advertise a new 2k game
The first promo to the storyline would be one of the roster sat down playing the game using the CAW creator and then somehow the CAW comes to life and jumps out the screen

A CAW gimmick would actually be dimes if you let the fans vote on what happens to him cyber sunday style. Every week a vote is run to decide hair colour, tattoos, gear, entrance music etc.

There have been a couple superstars over the years whose entire gimmick was imitating other superstars like some people do with their CAWs. Charlie Haas, Macho Mandow, Eugene, Curtis Axel, that one black dude who plays Ric Flair. The problem is they all sucked.

Sort of related but TNA made the character Suicide from their game a real life gimmick. I don't really remember the reception he got from most fans but I liked him.
