Was this the best match of 2023? I think so. Easily 5 stars. Meltzer said he's leaning towards 5 stars. How did WWE drop the ball on Thatcher?

Thatcher's a good wrestler but that's all he is. He was ratings poison for NXT and has no charisma.

Matches without any story don't deserve 5 stars.

Maybe it had good ring work. But many other matches this week were more important.

I'm a Thatcher mark, but the fact was that his segments always, always lost ratings in NXT, so you can't blame them for letting him go. I bet Shawn could do better with him, but he wasn't booking at the time.
