After Rocky III, and then his face turn, Hogan was perfectly poised to be the face of the AWA. Smarks will blame Vince for killing the territories, but Verne's unbelievable stupidity played a big role in it too. And once Hulk left, the dominoes began to fall for the AWA as many of his other top stars were poached by Vince thanks in no small part to Hogan.
