honestly? he didn't stand out enough. he was just another guy. who was he, really? nobody knows or cares. he just didn't seem special.
but he was fine enough for a midcard role, especially in tags. nothing wrong with that and he was far from a bad wrestler. he just wasn't loaded with charisma nor was he ever really given a major push either.

Listen to the ovation when he was called up. The fans fucking loved him. He could have been a solid upper mid-carder and a guy you throw into world title matches as a spacer between feuds or something ala Kevin Owens. Vince was just bitchy because he got over without his approval.

He was the 2nd longest reigning world champion in TNA / Impact history and had one of the most memorable runs in that company's 2 decade history.

He accomplished a lot in wrestling. Not so much in "Sports Entertainment."

Bobby Roode is decent at everything but excels at nothing. His best moments usually involve tag matches where his partner was more charismatic than him but as a singles wrestler he's nothing remarkable. I think Hunter realised his limitations and tried to overcompensate with that ridiculous meme song and entrance where he span around on a Roomba.

He's a great tag wrestler and midcard heel, in the brand split he could have had a Jinder like reign with the smackdown world title while Orton took a vacation between mania and Summerslam. Would have had a great us title feud with cena.

But He got saddled by the NXT entrance. It pigeonholed him into Adam Rose/No Way Jose tier

he doesnt have it. he's boring. hs has a good look in theory but in reality he doesnt. there's nothing special about his look that stands out, he's bland and has little personality. when tna started pushing roode, aries and other guys into the main event, that's when it really started going down the toilet. turns out the younger guys just werent good enough
