I’ve heard this is the best storyline in years but I don’t watch modern wrestling, what’s going on? Why is it getting so much praise?

Because WWE has been forcing them down everybody's throats for 3 years now, give them every belt on both brands, and gives them 30 minute melodrama segments every show.
