I loved how each of the 5 fighting styles were easy to pick up and play yet were far different than each other despite being based on strikes and grapples. I hope AEW isn't just writing big mouth checks for Fight Forever because they're making it seem like the goal is to have a game that's fun whether you pick up and play or master it like the first two Def Jam games. WWE games aren't fun for me. I haven't played one since 2K12 and it felt like you had to win a minigame just to kick out of a pin. I liked Fire Pro needing you to hold a button to breathe if you ran out of stamina but WWE2K series takes the concept too far and it feels like you can't just pass a controller to a friend unless they've played a tutorial first. Even if the games weren't glitchy messes, they're still too in the reeds.
