The entrance animations are designed to work with a long ramp. It's not that surprising they didn't have the stairs since they'd have to insert some generic animation of them walking down them, although they did it for elimination chamber entrances.

If entrances in this game worked a little more dynamically like Fire Pro, MDickie or Wrestlemania XIX, they would be able to have different types of stages. But reanimating hundreds upon hundreds of them for ONE stage when 99% of people will skip them anyway is retarded.
