Hasn't Taichi been pushed as a guy that's at least a contender for top of the card stuff? He's had matches with Naito and Ibushi that weren't exactly fodder. I hate NJPW's main event style as much as the next guy that hates that they waste like 15 minutes of my time for no reason, but I wouldn't call this match a "forced" epic.
