Roman's a part of a massive samoan dynasty and has been handed everything since the very start. He was forced on the audience because of his blood before leaving due to leukemia. Cody's a part of a smaller, less respected family who forever rotted away in the midcard. Cody himself was in the lower midcard for years before he left for the indies.
Both of their grand returns were met with love and adoration, Cody's was earned through his years in the indies then aew. Roman's came simply from his name, the only thing he truly has.
No one in the Rhodes family has ever held a top world title, whereas the Anoai's are practically handed them on a silver platter.
The fight feels less like a battle between roman/cody and more like Cody fighting to bring legitimacy to his family.
