No other sports fans are expected to enjoy watching women "athletes." You don't see NBA fans shaming other NBA fans for not watching the WNBA, for example. Nor do you see soccer fans shouting at other soccer fans that they must watch women's soccer.
Women move like they're underwater. They botch constantly. They simply can't match the athleticism of men. And in fact, high school boys teams can and have defeated professional women's teams, including the women's world cup winner. Even in tennis, the men are significantly better. Braasch, ranked 208 in (men's) tennis, dominated both Williams' sisters in their primes, one after the other, after playing a round of golf, getting drunk, and even smoking between sets.
