>Even American pop idol Michael Jackson is getting into the act, promising to give a benefit concert for North Korea's starving children in Seoul in October, with his friends Elizabeth Taylor and Luciano Pavarotti also performing. Jackson also wants to give some kind of performance in the DMZ (The Border of North and South Korea), which may be even harder to pull off than a cattle drive. "I am very excited about working with my good friends {Taylor and Pavarotti} to help the scores of children around the world who wake up hungry every day," Jackson said in a statement. Kang In Duk, South Korea's minister of national unification, said in an interview that as long as the plan is approved by North Korea and the U.N. Command, the military force that controls the southern half of the demilitarized zone, "I personally would have no objections." Kang said that goes for Jackson's proposed DMZ performance as well. / The benefit, tentatively called "We Are The World 2," will be held on October 10 at the Olympic Stadium in Seoul, South Korea and will be broadcast live in 120 countries. Such artists as Luciano Pavarotti, Whitney Houston, Celine Dion, Boyz II Men, and athletes Michael Jordan and Tiger Woods, as well as Jackson's friend Elizabeth Taylor have been invited to participate in the concert to support the cause. Also being contacted to record taped messages that will air during the show are world leaders Nelson Mandela and the leader of the catholic church Pope John Paul II.There's no way North Koreans don't know who he is when he had that much influence to plan such a thing, especially since they were the ones who shot this down.
