why is technical wrestling skill praised? for me, it should be all about how exciting your high spots are, and your force of personality. "technical" moments should mainly be for when you need to rest or as buildup

If a wrestler has the ability to make technical wrestling interesting and able to get the crowd interested, then they typically have the ability to do everything else

I can name plenty of wrestlers praised for being "technically skilled" but hardly do anything else particularly challenging

I’ve never understood the Bret Hart. I’ve seen a bunch of his most highly praised matches and they have all bored me to tears. He’s also got no personality. He’s not any more charismatic than someone like Lance Storm. I think Shawn is overrated also but at least Shawn’s matches were exciting.
