What if Todd Pettengill decided to leave radio and stay with the WWE and not recommend Michael Cole as a replacement. Would things have been better?

Michael Cole was just a meat puppet for Vince's shitty commentary. If you watch 80-90s WWF with Vince at the desk, you quickly realize that he's just Michael Cole with a deeper voice. I wouldn't stick up for Cole so hard but he got noticeably better when Vince stopped producing the commentary.
