My ex was the same way as Veda, insanely feminine in their makeup and the way they dressed, but didn't like being referred to as a woman. Something something made them feel less than equal to men. Non-binary does not always mean androgynous. Which is fine, but they should be understanding if someone "misgenders" them. It's almost insulting to trans people who take hormones and do everything in their power to pass as the other gender.
