They're actually doing really well right now. Good gates, crowds are back, western attention is coming back, the new batch of young lions have turned out better than the Wato-Oka generation
Right now they have two problems going forward: 1. Their Roster keeps getting raided. It just keeps happening. It's Jay this year, next year Ospreay will be gone too, mark my words. Fostering company loyalty only goes so far. 2. With Jay on the outs, they have a massive hole in their roster. I didn't really realize how important he was to everything, but Jay has been the top heel in New Japan for like 5 years now. He can carry a feud, can draw a nice amount of money, and most importantly he can work long matches if he needs to. With him gone now, who will take his place? Evil? That didn't work out last time they tried that. ZSJ? He seems like he's actually over with the crowd right now. Who can actually fill his boots now?
