It’s just…why do people still need to be diagnosed with a DSM listed mental illness in America in order to receive “care”? Trans people aren’t crazy right? Their gender is being affirmed not reassigned. There’s nothing to reassign after all. They were just born with the wrong organs for some reason. They just need to be gently reaffirmed by cutting them off. Why must they be confirmed mentally ill (often times by Psychiatrists with the same mental illness) in order to be reaffirmed by a helpful surgeon and permanent course of hormones? That seems fucked up.
