I think it just a diferent environment. in wwe the crowd relies way to much on storylines for someone to become over, in aew a couple of good matches will get you a somewhat good reaction. Yuta doesn't even get that "good" of a reaction let's be honest

you ever been to a Raw or Smackdown taping? I went during the Attitude Era and again in 2016 and the difference is staggering. in the AE they'd have someone come out with a t-shirt gun or to cut a promo to keep the crowd hot during commercial breaks. now they air the commercials on the titantron instead of doing fun stuff like that. it's utterly bizarre.

audience is completely different. back in the Attitude Era it was all college kids and teenagers. they treated it like a party and the show acted like one. it was a good time.
