Remember the insider post on here after the All Out scrum where he said the real conflict in AEW is not between Punk and Elite, but between Khan and the EVPs who have been helping their guys get better contract offers by feeding info to Cody and other talent scouts at WWE.

He’s never said punk is never coming back, only that Punk’s side had said he’s moving on, and what he’s saying now is Punk is almost off the injury bench so it has to be dealt with soon. In addition there’s the tv rights renewal and the elite contracts coming up , so losing a draw vs upsetting half the lockerroom will make it tough for Khan to decide
