Even if you don't have a script you still have a general idea of what you're going to say and communicate that to each other, both to say sorry I'm going to call you some pretty awful things tonight, and to make sure that everyone delivers good lines, doesn't get blindsided and blanks, and that everyone comes out looking good - which can be looking like a scumbag for a heel, but a scumbag you want to see at the next PPV. When you basically break kayfabe and deliver a promo that's incomprehensible to someone who's not into backstage drama, and damaging to the babyface's credibility and to the brand for those that are into the drama, you're just shooting yourself in the foot.
Clearly nothing Eddie, MJF or Moxley said ever deviated from the narrative they had going on, they weren't shooting, they were acting.
