This became a problem down the road since Vince stepped down from creative, losing their primary boogeyman in a movement that was steeped in a "fuck the Fed" ethos, and also since TK let a bunch of the Elite's friends go. So the show still has a bunch of gay bullshit that doesn't appeal to wider audiences, but at the same time, does not pander as hard to the audience that crowd funded one of the most successful wrestling events in recent history. And moreover, we now have the benefit of several years of hindsight to see how shitty payoffs have been to various angles and matches.
The honeymoon period is over.
