>>9034880It was watered down and far more lifeless than the attitude era. the whole energy of the show was different, it doesnt matter how desperate and edgy they tried to be. There was no more hardcore title, nobody ever left the hell in a cell, it was no longer as action packed with guys fighting all around the arena and outside. It became formulaic with invisible camera segments and guys cutting promos on each other in the ring. It was like a parody of the attitude era from guys who didnt really understand what made the attitude era good. They thought edgy = attitude era. I enjoyed portions of it but it was seen as a low point at the time
I remember watching things like the lita and kane storyline and being embarrassed by how shit wwe had became. WWF was always a soap opera but now it was no longer a testosterone fueled shit show, it was just gay and lame. Really slow paced and the shitty acting was even more noticeable
Compare an episode from 1999 to 2004 and you will see how weak it had gotten by 2004
