This whole thing has made me very jaded towards the reign of Triple H as head of creative. He literally seems to be making the same mistakes Vince did in 2014 when it came to Daniel Bryan. At this point, I really am wondering if he was just working us the whole time he was in charge of NXT. The guy who created magic with NXT doesn't seem to still exist.

Sure, in the short-term popping the crowd by having Zayn win would have been best for business but the fact is that Sami Zayn is not the guy to carry the company for the next few years until they create a new star. You see, anon, he's not the kind of guy they can send to talk shows and podcasts and NBA celebrity games and elevate the brand. Thus, Zayn being the one to dethrone Reigns after his ~900 day title reign would have been a waste. Like letting Alex Riley beat The Streak because he was hot for 5 seconds.

In the old territory days you would have had Sami win then days later have him lose to Roman. I don't get why didn't Triple H did this unless the plan is for Cody to win. If that's the case then yes you can't have Roman lose yet. But if Roman wins again at Mania then it doesn't make sense for him to not have put over Sami.
