You don't have to be a genius like me to write around the assets if you have them:
Heel/heelish refs being lean on heels but also doing the count for the face properly when needed.
You can use a heel ref position to introduce a new wrestler to the roster by escalating the cheating to point
where he himself is told to wrestle against the one face he focused on..
You can do a lot with it, its fresh because it hasn't been done in a long while outside special referees.
