They give TV boxes and pay for cable for select houses for a few months. It's completely random, I had one many years ago. You select up to 5 "watchers" by entering their age on the box.
I think each watcher represented 15,000 viewers. I would log into all 5 and enter 80-90 years old and watch Conan O'Brien in early 2000s. I would smoke weed and get high imagining someone in some corporate office trying to figure out why they need to start running ads for old 80 year old ladies watching latenight tv.
