I’d say Gedo is the best booker of the last decade but he doesn’t really get enough shit for a lot of the things his fumbled.

Cody was the drizzling shits in Japan, but who would you have had Kenny feud with at that point? I thought the Jericho feud put Naito over better as opposed to losing ANOTHER IWGP title shot. I'd never give away Kenny vs. Ibushi outside of a main event in The Dome. Kenny was supposed to beat Tanahashi, but that match was saved for Wrestle Kingdom. Ishii? Sanada?
Ospreay was still a Junior, Jay White was very fresh, and Shingo wasn't around yet.

Shingo's run was actually pretty good
Jay and Kenny were never meant to hold it for very long in the first place, gaijin and all that
Ibushi qas a straight dud and makes me feel kike the backstage problems long predated the shoulder injury

Kenny held the belt for 8 months. He was MEANT to hold it for 11 months. He was booked to beat Tana at WK 13 and would have then dropped it back to Okada in April at MSG
