Muto already put over Kiyomiya is seen as a successor (Muto even made comparisons to Kiyomiya and his son) and has stated he chose Naito because he's a bigger draw than Okada and is a genuine Muto mark

His American work in the 80s is goated.
His in his prime New Japan stuff is incredibly spotty. He has some good stuff like the G1 with Vader. But his only real must see stuff are Hase carry jobs.
By the 2000s his knees are shot and I have to give him mad respect for finding out how to work 90% of his matches from a seated position. Real Steven Seagal
shit.
I saw one match from his NOAH run in 2019 and it was painful to watch.
We was a huge star and his fans followed him across 3 different promotions. But his body of work leaves a lot to be desired.
