No shmup exclusive to the PS1 even comes close to Radiant Silvergun, for instance. Assault Suit Leynos 2 also doesn't have a PS1 equivalent to speak of.
PS1 focused more on the up and coming 3D genres at the expense of the tried and true 2D ones. At the end of the day, MGS and Tenchu are probably the best games of that era, but there is a lot to enjoy about the Saturn that neither the PS1 nor N64 really bothered to replicate.
