NXT was good until Dusty died and Paul took over and didn't get good again until Paul left and Shawn took over. Paul is just lucky he got all that good will from what was actually Regal and Dusty booking the best stuff on NXT

The real redpill is that NXT was always easy to book
>sign someone catching fire on the indies

>let them hold it until they start losing steam
>start from step one and move the old champion up to the main roster where you no longer have to book for them

NXT had easy mode booking because they taped 3 weeks at a time, practiced their matches to hell, and only really had 5-6 shows a year that people watched. When all those went away when they went live, magically all the flaws started showing up.

Its very easy to have defined character arcs when you push out every champion after they lose the belt and cycle in new guys right after. And when you aren't wrestling every week. NXT was not booked for TV and thats why all those shitters didn't feel the same on RAW or Smackdown.
