MJF has settled upon a style of wrestling that leans heavily into brutality and grounded devestation. Targeted damage to specific points of the body is precisely what submission moves are about.

MJF has had difficulty settling upon any particular finisher that matches his character. In my opinion finishers have gotten played out anyway, as most have already been used and their incorporation serves to make matches predictable. He can do without them although it will be interesting to see him one day come up with something that has that big finish match-ending feel to it.

His matches will be enjoyable from here on out because he's always going to push the other guy to his breaking point. This upcoming Iron Man match is meant to prove to the doubters that he's finally matured as a wrestler proper.

And he should always, always insist that it be called by its proper name, the Stepover Toehold Facelock.
He should even bring up Chono, who hadn't wrestled in 9 years, beating Keiji Mutoh into retirement with it.

What flashy moves are you talking about? Most of AEWs top guys have submission or striking finishers other than the one winged angel. The v-trigger, buckshot lariat, super kick party, busaiku knee, orange punch, Judas effect. The fuck are you talking about

I wouldn't say that, he doesn't do anything unconventional, as up until recently in his career he wasn't even compelling in the ring to begin with. I think doing something truly different is still years away as he is only just now mastering the fundamentals.

This would be fine if matches ended in an unpredictable but satisfying way. For instance like in pro wrestling noah they just had stronger finishers if the first one they used didnt work. In aew when they do a finisher spam the move that usually puts people down for the three ends like a wet fart and its usually something basic like a chokehold or a running knee
