yeah it was fine at the time and only weirdo smarks have a problem with it 20 years later because they obsess over dumb shit like this. mcmahon family drama was a big part of the attitude era and it wasnt yet overplayed (the stephanie and hhh angle was fresh). vince coming back to manage the rock and reclaim his company was a good storyline. smarks are autistic and anything that isnt a singles match with the babyface winning clean with no run ins is the worst thing ever to them though

I enjoy multi man elimination style matches more than the traditional triple threat or fatal 4 way. The process of elimination creates more excitement similar to the end of a royal rumble match. Check out the final four IYH for a good four way elimination match and tell me these type of four way matches aren’t better than “sudden death”, first person to get a pin or submission wins.

I was a kid and mankind was my favorite wrestler. Didn't care much for the rock and I fucking hated HHH. I saw the match as no way HHH can get out of this one, if anyone who isn't he wins I win. I also thought if Foley won then mankind could return so I was hyped. I was excited for the match, it ended like most HHH matches in that era with crap that made me rage but I ate it up I was 10 and thought wrestling was real.

It was originally going to be Jericho winning the rumble which Russo confirmed & Rock was going to beat HHH for the belt sometime on a TV taping but Haitch had a shit fit and got both plans scrapped

I started watching during the build to this, I was such a Rock mark it was unbelievable. I spent the day of looking desperately for someone to split the cost with,and failed.
Smackdown brought wrestling to a whole new audience of people like me who grew up without cable and hadn't ever seen prime-time wrestling.
