That's not what we're arguing over though. An actual technical wrestler would be someone like William Regal that could put you in a hold that you wouldn't be able to get out of and could cripple you with it. ZSR is the flippy shit equivalent, it looks flashy because he moves a lot but there's nothing technical about it, if you put him in a real fight against a Lou Thesz he'd break his leg.

You don't, though. Have you ever seen a wrestling match in your life? Wrestlers are great athletes that can make it through a submission to reach the ropes, even if it costs them. By switching over and applying pressure with transitions, it makes this harder to achieve.

I just watched this. It was actually pretty entertaining. I noticed a few of the criticisms pointed out here and the match was a bit too long, but the good sequences were actually pretty good. I've not seen a lot of this kind of stuff desu, and I think maybe the attempts at doing stuff like this that I have seen before may not have been the best examples of it. A very cool thing about Zack is that he does well by the submission master gimmick by submitting people with different moves (so that you're not on the lookout for just the one or two submission finishers, like most other wrestlers), thus the wacky names for all of them. I believe he hasn't submitted anyone with that move since that match.

ZSJ pre 2019 was an overrated noodly twerp who had zero personality or charisma
Lots of TRANSITIONS HOLDS but no presence, no character. Didn't sell his or others moves he was just an empty eyed robot going through a rehearsal and not in a cool terminator iceman way. Dimeless.

Then he tapped into his inner dickhead and embraced the insufferable side of his real life commie persona,gained enough muscle to not be distractingly weak looking, and became based.

He's from the Isle of Sheppey which is a mix of absolute arseend hellhole in Sheerness, and poshboys. He's Daniel Bryan's militant vegan heel persona IRL with an added dash of privileged champagne socialist and at some point got a clue about not trying to make people like his unlikeable qualities.

It's legit a 10/10 heel gimmick and his chain submission work is more traditional NJPW style than anyone else on the roster except maybe Tanahashi.

Probably one of my favorite wrestlers to watch nowadays. I don't understand why wrestling purists don't like him. He's like the only guy who wrestles the old-school British/Japanese wrestling style but with a modern flair so crowds don't get bored.
