So, if you were a young kid, you could still harbor some illusions of it being real to one extent or another. For awhile I had convinced myself that it was a mix of real and fake. The thing that finally broke that illusion for me was the Montreal screwjob and the documentary that was made about it. Hearing Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels and McMahon breaking kayfabe on camera made it undeniable. That killed my interest in wrestling for about two decades, so I think it's better that they're more honest about it these days.
