>>9217816At its best, a hardcore match can be a great way to blowoff a feud between tso guys who have a serious feud between them. Foley's match with Orton was great because it looked like they were trying to hurt each other with the stuff around them and it had a story it was easy to get interested in.
Modern shitters just like doing violent spots and don't know how to work a logical match so they just move between spots with no reason or psychology, often blatantly positioning themselves, allowing their opponent to hurt them, or deliberately nerfing the weapon they're using (any bat shot where they're holding both ends of the bat).
The Jungle Boy vs Christian match felt more brutal than the deathmatch because it actually looked lime they hated each other and were struggling to win, instead of two guys lettinv each other be cut and doing contrived, illogical bullshit. You cannot fucking tell me that Hangman wrapping his torso in barbed wire and doing a moonsault while they're are multiple weapons he could just pick up and swing in the ring is not an embarrassing spot that utterly buries the match and gimmick.
