>>9229368Fair enough.
Danielson going up 2-0 was stupid because everyone knew going in it'd come to the wire, it effectively just telegraphed the next beat of the match, which is very poor structuring that drains the drama by making it obvious to the fans.
MJF getting 2 quick pins off a low blow was fucking awful and poorly executed. It was a blatant deflation to everything we just saw and felt like a hasty, lazy "they're even again" in the least dramatic way possible.
It SHOULD have gone
>Danielson 1>MJF 1>Danielson gets pissed off and enters another gear that MJF does not have (which is perfectly fine as MJF needed to cheat excessively to win anyway), starts beating the shit out of him, MJF, knowing he's losing all momentum, THEN low blows>Danielson 2>MJF hits some shit after it while Danielson is reeling>MJF 2There, that's the first half of the match fixed. Plays into themes, plays into characters, keeps a back-and-forth drama, doesn't insult anyone's intelligence with a hastily-thought out reset (that wasn't even done well because there wasn't a break between falls 1 and 2 from MJF despite there being breaks before?)
Wrestling critics generally forgive a lot of things and look at the broader theme. No other avenue of critiquing does this, critiquing is to look at all the things.
If you want to be a fast food pleb or Meltzer who overrates because it's his cash cow and people love da big stars, it's 5 stars.
If you want to be actually analytical and critical, it's 3.25.
