Was actually a part of the reason why guys like Devitt & AJ left they were drawing them huge merch money and not being compensated a single dime for it. Hence why Gallows and Machine Gun used to sell BC shirts on the sly when they would work indies in the US/UK/Europe/etc inbetween NJPW tours and not tell the office about it.
I'm not sure if they treat Tanahashi/Okada/the native roster the same but I wouldn't be surprised if the rest of the wrestlers get 0% cut of their merch either.
