Darby was just at the border of being what he needed to be. He says he wants to be champion, but when has he ever shown he actually cares to be? This was his chance to show everyone he's ready to be the maineventer, but he literally came out and said he's happy to be here.
It's a great pivot and an angle that interests me, but even though they all put on a good act, MJF maintains his status as the only one fit to hold the belt. The other guys talked about their grind and how hard they've worked for nothing: where is their ripped physique? Where is their impeccable ring-work? Where is their proof they've done anything but coast and stay at the level they were at last year, the year before, and the year before that?
