According to some insider on the F4W board, it's still 50/50 because of Vince. Jay doesn't want to sign with WWE if Vince is leading creative. I would be very surprised if he's debuting before a decision is made regarding the sale.

Normally the answer would be WWE easily, but the sale question puts an asterisk on ther stablity. Meanwhile, AEW is out of the fragile phase, they're established now, it's 4 years nearly. They aren't gonna fold any time soon.

Unless the pay is like astronomically higher, I don't see why anyone sane would choose WWE over AEW. How the fuck could anyone tolerate WWE's schedule? House shows don't even make profit overall, or such slender profits that overall it's not even worth it, just doesn't make sense given the time and effort needed to put on the circus, plus all the wear and tear and stress and ultimately injuries it causes to the wrestlers. The only reason it's still a thing is because Vince is a sadist. Plus he probably think the injuries are a good thing because he has so many people signed, if they were all healthy at once he couldn't keep them all satisfied and some would leave for the competition.

Jay is a money mark is the thing. He only became a wrestler because he won free tickets to WM27 and thought he’d be good at it. But he wasn’t a mark from childhood like The Elite guys or whoever were. He just worked NJPW because it’s close to New Zealand and he was already friends with Devitt and Fale. Now he lives in America and has raised his stock enough to get the big 6-figure WWE contract. I also thought WWE really stripped back the amount of house shows they were doing compared to back in the day when Jon Moxley was wrestling 300+ times a year.
