This match was amazing, fans were going ballistic the entire match. Benoit was getting so much heat that fans threw some garbage in the ring, and there were very loud pops for Rock. The in-ring work was great as well. They should have done more with these two

Nah. Holding off putting the strap on him was the right call. In 2004 he was very over and that WM 20 match was great and the ending of the PPV was awesome, and much of that was because he HAD come so close to winning the gold many times but hadn't. He wins the belt in 2000 then that moment doesn't mean as much, if it would even still happen.

Nah, in 2004 they needed to unify the world title, the roster was very weak and there weren't enough draws to carry a brand. In 2000 it was the perfect time since Shane could manage him, and you have Austin, Rock, Jericho, HHH, Angle, Taker, Kane that could all chase him.

I think WWF 2000 is one of the most boring overrated years in Wrestling but it always gets touted as being the BEST. Rematches galore and yeah it started shifting into Muh work rate shite. 2001 was so fucking wacky with Heel Austin, the Invasion (bad as it was), Flair becoming part owner of the company. But it wasn't boring. 2000? The Rock vs. HHH a thousand times and then a bunch of vanilla midget matches.

Fully Loaded did a bigger gate than Backlash and Judgement Day that year. The only 1 on 1 PPV match between Rock and HHH that year, that didn't involve Steve Austin was Judgement Day and buys for that event were the same as Benoit vs Rock at Fully Loaded.

Triple H ego-wanking is what killed it, the constant McMahons shoving themselves in every program. Being managers is fine but there's no need for them to always interfere in everything, storylines never had satisfying payoffs. It think Austin winning at WM15 was the last time a angle during the AE had a good ending
