I don't necessarily disagree, but here's the problem: at least in terms of pro wrestling in the west, it's still objectively the best form of wrestling nowadays. There's currently no better alternative, and yes that's a shot at AEW
If there was anything better, then it would have surpassed WWE in all relevant metrics by now
Look at WCW between 1996-97. In the early 90s WCW was just as cartoony and shitty as WWE, that's partly why it didn't surpass WWE yet, mainly because the general public still automatically associated 'wrestling' with the then-'WWF' (kinda similar to what we have going now with WWE and AEW)
Then the nWo came around and they greatly reduced their cartoon shit like the Dungeon of Doom shit, while WWE was still just starting to find their footing and get away from the cartoon shit with guys like Austin (before he became popular), Goldust, NOD, early DX, etc. No surprise WWE got BTFO in the ratings for 83 weeks straight during that period until Austin finally took over and Rock was getting pushed, along with more realistic angles and gimmicks
When a better wrestling company comes along then it will force WWE's hand to stop being the lazy garbage it is now. When AEW first came along a part of me genuinely hoped they would be able to do that, even as an E-drone. But we all know how that turned out
