>>9397192I never would have called myself a "TNA fan" but I do remember the early days when it was on the Fox Sports channel or whatever it was and the matches all had 10 minute time limits thus "total nonstop action". I remember in my mind calling it "rookies ripoffs and rejects" with ripoff chiefly being Abyss ripping off Kane and Mankind and rejects being all the ex WWE guys. Also I remember they actually had a very good PPV once or twice in the early days. I think one year BFG Nash or someone was supposed to fight Jarrett for the NWA title but was injured or something so he got replaced with Rhyno.
Anyway that first Monday night when they went against Raw was actually pretty interesting, with a bunch of big name surprises including Ric Flair and Jeff Hardy. People thought there was an outside chance they could become a viable alternative to the E but even that first Monday I don't think anyone seriously believed they'd ever become anywhere near the level of WCW
