TK got Cody over, he was the most popular babyface in all of AEW in 2019. And then several years worth of baby gender reveals, cringe Brandi segments and unnecessary pyro later, he was reviled and hated by most of the fans. The same will happen to him in WWE.

AEW spends as much time on tag teams as singles wrestlers. No one cares about tag teams though in reality which is why AEW gets less than 900k viewers kek.

Cody leaving had nothing to do with AEW getting worse. He was consistently in the worst segments for many months leading up to his departure

myself personally, I watched AEW to see Cody matches. yes he seemingly was always stuck in some other universe where he didn't interact with the rest of the roster and it was bad. didn't like it. but his match with Sammy Guevara was the best of Sammy's career. his match with Malakai made him into a legitimate threat in AEW, only for Tony to completely fumble him for a year. Cody put over Darby. He made that TNT belt into dimes. The simple fact is, he was the most mainstream star in the company and they completely fumbled the bag on a generational icon.

Yep. Drones seem to ignore this. Cody buried Malakai and Penta, beat Brodie when nobody wanted it and had an awful programme with Ogogo. Not to mention all the other bad segments

When Cody was good in AEW he was really good, but it didn't last very long. I also remember lots of people said Cody was one of the reasons they couldn't get into AEW.
