The problem is that people only seem to associate this kind of shit with technical wrestlers or brawlers working "pure" wrestling matches because they think "Well if this was real, that's what it would look like" which is an incredibly small brained take. My go to example for this is the HBK/Taker Hell in a Cell mach.

It's the story of a desperate coward trying to survive and outsmart an unstoppable monster. And how does he end up doing that? Simple...Kane (another monster) shows up and kicks Taker's ass and Shawn reaps the rewards. The coward is still a coward and now you've set the stage for a clash of the titans down the road.
There's more psychology in that match than your average ROH style borefest.
