There are the overarching storylines of Cody's mah daddy quest and Roman's bloodline reign, and these are converging, but in regards to the build between them, it feels like it's of little substance.
I don't feel Cody winning at Mania is a satisfying culmination of Roman's reign and the bloodline arc. I really think Roman should win, and then the feud between he and Cody extend out to Summerslam. Thus far, Cody's run has appeared all too predictable and devoid of adversity. Since coming back it hasn't felt like he's fighting against anything.
His dream is to headline WrestleMania and win the title for his father. That needs to be taken away from him. The Bloodline needs to dash his dreams, and then it becomes Cody's vendetta to exact revenge, but he is kept at arm's length until the period leading into Summerslam. Let it simmer and build over time. Let Reigns get past the 1000-day mark so his legacy is firmly cemented, and Cody's as well by beating him.
After 3 years of Reigns holding the top title, a win by Cody here is a wet fart of a conclusion. There's not enough heat to pay it off yet.
